McSwan is committed to the management of legal issues
at the earliest opportunity and by the most informal means. His interests are
family law, employment law, administrative law, commercial litigation and local
government law. |

Commitment
Ross
was admitted as a solicitor in 1994 and as a barrister in 2007. Following a
number of years in a successful general law practice involving family law,
rural conveyancing and commercial litigation Ross relocated to the
Mediation
Ross
is recognized as a mediator by the Queensland Bar Association. He has over 2000 hours mediation experience
attained through resolving disputes for:
v
the Australian Defence Force;
v
State and Local Government;
v
separating couples; and
v
private enterprise.
Arbitration
As
a Senior Case Officer on contract to the Child Support Agency Ross conducted
over 800 conferences and settled the attending Notices of Decision. Ross is qualified as a Grade 3 Arbitrator
with the
Australian Defence Force
Ross
is a Lieutenant with the Royal Australian Navy Reserve (Legal Corps) and he
conducts mediations, workplace conferences and assessments of mediators. He was one of the first mediators to be
appointed by the ADF to resolve complex workplace disputes.
Training
Ross
has lectured and acted as a tutor in universities in business law, MBA and
dispute resolution programs. He holds a
Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace training and he acts as a coach on
mediation courses conducted by
Qualifications and interests
Ross
holds a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Laws and has specialised in dispute resolution
through completion of a Master of Laws and the Professional Certificate in
Mediation and Arbitration.
Ross supports
the local community as the President of the Sunshine Coast Legal Service and as
an active member of the Alexandra Headlands Surf Lifesaving Club. He is a committee member of the Australian
Institute of Management (Sunshine Coast Branch).
